Think about having your 1st baseman beat runners to 2B on extra base hits vs.trailing them.This eliminates the possibility of the SS/2B vacating early on what is not a sure 2B & leaving 2B open or having 2B open & the batter runner falls down or trips between 1B & 2B before he gets to 2B
